Is Genesis important to the Gospel?

Posted by Huw Thomas on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, In : Creation

I recently read a Christian blog in which it was stated that the question of origins is unimportant and that arguing for a literal reading of Genesis 1-11 is a waste of time. The author states "...fundies seriously do not want to address or think through issues of  literary genre..." Judging from the issue I assume that fundie is equated to anyone with a belief in a comparatively recent creation. I decided to address the issue of the literary genre of Genesis and its importance to the rest of...

  • Gene control regions are protected from tampering, which means that assuming that evolution tampers with them is a faulty conclusion.1
  • Evolutionists turned a blind eye to original dinosaur red blood cells when they claimed that Otzi the Iceman's red blood cells were the oldest preserved. Red blood cells in dinosaur fossils fit with the biblical young world.2
  • A clay seal with the oldest inscription of the word "Bethlehem" confirms that it had been a village before Mi...

Geological Processes and the Flood

Posted by FirePrior on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, In : Creation
by John D. Morris, Ph.D.

The great Flood of Noah's day was a time of unthinkable geological upheaval, such that "the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished" (II Peter 3:6). No flood in human history has rivaled its destructive magnitude.

Though we are far from a full understanding of the Flood, the Bible does give us a clue when it says, on that "same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windo...

Continental Drift

The theory of plate tectonics explains many earth features, like ocean floor trenches and sediment-free mid-ocean ridges made of hardened magma. The popular theory holds that continents drift slowly across earth's surface atop deeply buried molten rock, and that plate movements creep along at leisurely paces. But new research by Yale University geologists calls that into question.

Yale graduate student Ross Mitchell ...

Mount St Helens Volcano

On May 18, 1980, a tremendous landslide on the northern side of Mount St. Helens in Washington state uncapped a violent volcanic eruption, completely altering the surrounding landscape. It is the most studied volcano in history and has reshaped thinking regarding catastrophic earth processes. The Institute for Creation Research has studied the volcano over the past three decades, conducting research that has provided...

NASA Earth Image Helps Answer Flood Question

NASA's Image of the Day for January 25, "Blue Marble," is a composite of images taken by the Suomi NPP satellite that provides an exquisite view of the earth from space.1 This is the latest in a series that began with the famous "Blue Marble" photo taken in 1972 by the Apollo 17 crew.

This image can help answer a question that creationists often hear: If the entire earth really was covered during the Flood of Noah's...
