The Church comprises all who have put their faith in Christ. It is not a building, a denomination, a religion, an organisation but a spiritual organism. The Church is the body and Christ is the head. Each believer makes up the body and all believers through time and space form the church. When believers gather together they are the church manifest to the world.
The Church and Jesus' Return
The church will be taken up to meet the Lord at the close of this age. There will be a resurrection of all dead believers and those alive at the time will be caught up (raptured) together with them to meet Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:17; John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:52). With the church removed from Earth God will then bring judgements upon the world (Revelation 3:10). Christians will be changed (1 John 3:2; 1 Peter 1:5; 1 Corinthians 15:51, 54) and take their place with the Lord (1 Peter 5:6; Colossians 3:4; Revelation 3:21)
